Join me in the South this November for an all-inclusive styled wedding and bridal boudoir retreat. Our stay will take place at a lakeside house, near Huntsville, AL. Our lodging is nestled on Lake Guntersville, where you’ll have access to fishing off the pier, relaxing in the hot tub, or enjoying coffee in the morning on the large deck. This is primarily a retreat for photographers, with some workshop instruction. Expect a more casual environment than a typical workshop.
Spend 3 days with a group of creatives, while we shoot and edit two highly styled sessions with 4 different models. During our first shoot we’ll be working with all of our models on a styled wedding session – in an indoor warehouse location. Our second shoot will be two models for two bridal boudoir shoots, at an outdoor location (weather permitting).
Friday’s arrival will be relaxed as everyone arrives at the Lake House. Attendees will have the chance to settle in, see our wardrobe, and chat with our team. We will have a casual lunch for those who arrive early, and a home cooked meet and greet dinner that evening.
Saturday morning will kick off our styled wedding session after brunch. Attendees will be able to sit in as our hair and makeup team works on the models. Shooting will begin after lunch and last until dinner (approximately 5-6 hours to work through a variety of setups). As this is a retreat, instruction is not provided during the shoot – but instead we encourage questions and group interaction. Everyone will have the opportunity to participate in posing and working with the models. Questions are encouraged during this time if you want to know lens choices or settings.
Sunday morning will be spent shooting our bridal boudoir session with two models. We will split into two groups so that attendees have a smaller more personal experience. Each group will have 1.5 hours to work with each model. Following our lunch, I will be providing 2-3 hours of editing instruction, as well as answering general questions about business.
Monday will be our farewell breakfast, and the retreat will wrap up by 11am for participant departure.
Suggested equipment and knowledge:
We recommend that you have a DSLR camera and have a basic understanding of the exposure triangle.
A base understanding of Photoshop would be helpful for this class, as the editing can be somewhat overwhelming for beginners – however this is not required.
