Drift Away – an in person 3 day and night WEDDING workshop designed for the professional photographer. February 26-29, 2016 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

This year, grow your wedding business in ways you didn’t think was possible.  This workshop is designed for professionals who just can’t seem to find their niche in the overcrowded wedding market.  Together we’ll walk through how to make your business stand out, and how you can begin to attract your target clients so that you’re photographing the weddings that inspire you, and make you fall in love with your business all over again.  We are going to spend 3 days and 3 nights in  Scottsdale, Arizona; an area surrounded by sprawling deserts, incredible vistas, and areas surrounded by the history of ancient civilizations.  Attendees of the workshop will be spending the time getting to know each other in a beautifully laid out relaxing house where we will cook together, discuss business practices and how to attract more clients, and unwind at the end of each day.

On Friday we’ll arrive at the house and spend the evening getting to know each other over a welcome dinner, then spend a couple of hours having an “Ask Me Anything” question session. Saturday morning will start bright and early, as we meet to discuss finding the right client, pricing, pre-wedding consultations, and planning.  After a short lunch break we will go through an actual wedding timeline as well as see samples of products, welcome packets, and a full wedding gallery.  Our “bride” and “groom” will join us a short time later to meet with hair and makeup as we begin prep for the styled shoot.  Each attendee will have a chance to watch as I shoot, then have a few minutes with each pose and set up to take their own photos and ask questions.  You’ll have a short amount of time at the end of the session to work with and pose our models. Following the session we will return to the house for a dinner break.  Following the dinner we will wrap Saturday up by downloading our images.  Then it’s time to relax for the evening before we tackle editing on Sunday morning. Sunday morning will kick-off with a home cooked breakfast and coffee.  After our breakfast, the we jump right into culling and editing a wedding.  You will learn how to quickly go through and choose the photos you want to edit, and discuss streamlining the editing process.  Together we will work through a few fully retouched portraits, as you learn my editing techniques.  You will also have the chance to watch as I discuss batch editing techniques.  We will talk about gallery delivery and in person sales this day as well. Monday morning will be a weekend wrap up as each attendee has the chance to do a short 20 minute one-on-one breakout with me to discuss any questions they may have, or how they can implement my process to best meet their needs.  We will wrap up the workshop with a farewell lunch before everyone leaves.

Participants are welcome to use any images from the workshop in their portfolio, but must credit the “Five and Five Workshop” tag for any images used on their social media sites.  Approximately one month before the workshop you will be added to a private Facebook group to learn details of the session as it comes together.  After the weekend is over you will have access to 6 months of followup support from me.  I will be happy to go over any techniques you may need refreshing on, or to provide feedback on new images.

This workshop is all-inclusive and covers lodging, food (Dinner Friday night through lunch Monday), non-alcoholic drinks, and travel to and from the session site.  Attendees are responsible for their travel to and from Scottsdale, Arizona.
